Murshid Hidayat Inayat-Khan
New Year Message 2011
English | Italiano | Espanol
The Present is the consequence of a hide–and-seek game
played by one’s will power and Destiny, in the Past.
The Future shall offer the fruit of the seeds planted day by day, and which shall prove
sooner or later to be either sweet or sour.
Very Dear Sufi Brothers and Sisters,
It is so interesting to read in the Teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan, how closely the subject called Moral Culture is related to specific relationships such as:
Relations between Partners
Relations with Children
Relations with Close Family Members
Relations with Distant Relatives
Relations with True Friends
Relations with Acquaintances
Relations with Strangers
Relations with Persons in Higher Functions
Relations with disagreeable Opponents
Relationship with the God Ideal
At all these various levels of relationships, Hazrat Inayat Khan continually emphasizes the importance of holding to basic qualities such as:
Kindness
Consideration
Forgiveness
Beneficence
Reciprocity at the level of the heart
Understanding for the opinion of others
Avoiding all tendencies of self-pretense
Talking to each at the pitch of their own tone
Having respect for those, dependent on an example
Restraining from doing to others, anything that one would not want to experience oneself
The one who practices these great principles – securing thereby, harmonious relationships in all circumstances – could verily be seen as the
Holder of the Golden Key to Happiness.
With all the best wishes for the New Year from you Sufi Brother and Sister,
Hidayat and Aziza
